Awards/time management/my mad crush

I have been working my butt off. No, literally. I can barely tell I have one anymore. In the mean time I have been trying to keep up with the blog here and all the kind people who have amazing blogs that I love to visit. I have also gotten a few awards and although I love what they mean, I can’t possibly keep listing a hundred interesting things about myself, because honestly I am just not that interesting. Really.

So, here is my answer to this. I am going to just randomly throw out some sites that I think are worth a visit and hope that you might all stop by. The bloggers at the other end will have no responsibility to do anything, so I won’t feel bad about nominating them for something that they then have to do because of me. I’m kinda hoping others will jump in and leave some comments under this post with some sites we all might want to check out as well, since I am always looking to find new and interesting blogs to read, and it is a nice way to give a shout out to the bloggers who are really awesome.

I have had a few people ask me about time management and how I do the things I do with kids and other things going on. Here is the simple answer behind that question. There really is no magic formula I use. Repeat after me. “I PUT THINGS OFF.” That is how I do it. I schedule things out weeks ahead of time so that when I see them in my desk calendar I know I have to do them that day. Otherwise, I only do what I feel I can handle that day. That’s it. If I can’t find a way to comfortably fit it in I do it later. Again with the procrastination.

Lastly, I must know if this has ever happened to you. I have a mad crush on another wordpress blogger. I can’t help myself. His occasional sarcasm is not to be outweighed by his adorable nurturing nature. I of course will not reveal his name nor will I bother him with my affections, but I can’t stand the thought that I am the only one this has ever happened to. Has anyone else ever had a cyber crush? Seriously, he makes me blush all the time. I’m such a prat.

This list is in no way comprehensive, but my eyes got tired. There are some really great sites, blogs and bloggers in that list, so if anyone is looking for new and interesting people to follow–try out some of these. Who are some of your favourite bloggers?

  1. Oooh, lots of new blogs to check out, thank you for that and for the mention. Is your crush on the list? πŸ˜‰
I’ve made a few friends and yes, I have a few little crushes. How can you not? You’re certainly not alone there. πŸ™‚

  2. I really like your blog! I feel like I’m getting to know you through it which doesn’t happen with every blog. It’s fun getting to know you! And I’ve never had a crush on a blogger, but I DO procrastinate, if that counts! πŸ™‚ I didn’t register our Dexter calf till she was 2 1/2 and pregnant because I was so intimidated by the process! Only the fear of her having a calf and still not being registered finally made me just jump in and do it. And guess what, like most the things I procrastinate about, it wasn’t really that hard at all! And it didn’t take all that much time, either! Arrrgh!

My newest blog I really like is http://5kidswdisabilities.com/ (I know you know her blog; I’m just putting it out there for others.)

    1. Thank you I missed her blog in this list so I really appreciate you adding it! I have so enjoyed getting to know you as well. Calfs are so much fun!

  3. I enjoy your down to earth manner and your honesty! I also tend to procrastinate with everything- I like your idea of the calendar and making sure you do it that day! Thanks for the mention and I look forward to reading more of your stuff as well as checking out all of these new blogs! πŸ™‚

Thank you Charles for reblogging! I have one that should go on the list! readfulthingsblog.com πŸ˜€
I’m really humbled and grateful that I made the list. Thank you Ionia! And geeks are cool (well for my sake, I hope they are). You are definitely not alone in your cyber crushing.

      1. The reader does that. It eats posts. I think some of mine don’t show up right away for people. I think it might have to do with the scheduler (that is my current theory).

  5. Thanks for the shout out- lol! I mentioned your blog on my post today, too πŸ˜‰ Great post- I was just thinking that I’d like to find more blogs to follow, which will cause me to lose more sleep- that’s how I get things done- stay up late and drink a lot of coffee!

  8. Arrived here via reblog on Legends of Windermere. Great post, I will click to follow.

Cyber crush – I’ve just read Turned On by Lucy Dent. Cyber crush taken to its extreme. Well worth a look – I don’t have any connection with the author. πŸ™‚

      1. Ha. Yes, I must be sick. And don’t even worry about it… never mind crawling in to any hole and ending it all. It’s sweet, no need to feel any kind of awkwardness πŸ™‚

  9. I have a HUGE cyber crush. An honest crush. I wanna comment on his posts and then I find myself thinking – Does that sound to corny? Am I coming off as desperate for attention? Should I rather not say anything… Jaaaaa. They suck.

  10. Good morning! Thank you so much for including me on your list of blogs, and giving me some new follow possibilities. Will be checking them out today. No cyber crushes here, but there are some bloggers I am “head over heels in like” with. πŸ˜‰

    1. Thank you John! One of the things I love about blogging is the variety of people and different interests. It always amazes me how much I don’t know!

  12. Thanks for the mention Ionia, even though I admit I don’t update my blog very much. I’ve been working on spiffing up my FB author page, since I’m having an easier time sharing links and information there. Now I just need to work on more content worthy of generating likes!

Oooo, online crush! I’ve so been there in the past. Just be careful what you do with it. It’s only my two cents from my own experiences, but no matter what you think of somebody online, they’re almost never the same person IRL. The trick is whether or not you still like them after meeting them face to face (keeping it neutral until then is a great thing!)

  14. You know, I think I’ve just figured out why you have no time to do anything – you follow too many blogs! πŸ˜‰

And I don’t think I’ve ever had a cybercrush, I just fall in love with characters in books…

  15. Wow! Thanks so much for the mention: I’m honoured! I’m a relatively new blogger and just getting to grips with this online world, so it’s amazing to be included in this list of luminaries. As requested, I jump in with my favourites: I will only mention three and in no particular order:
    http://hutchinsondave.wordpress.com/
    &
    http://captainlimey.wordpress.com/
These guys don’t blog everyday, but when they do it’s so witty, politically astute, well written and thought provoking.

  16. Holy Cow! What a list! And here I was thinking I was going to run out of things to read. LOL Thank you so much for adding me in among all the greats. What a community and so vastly different. I can’t say I’ve ever had a cyber crush, but I’m just getting started. Procrastination is, in itself, an art form. I’m working on perfecting it. LOL
