As we all know, I do not preface too many of my book reviews with much of an introduction, but in this case I feel I must. Bianca Sloane, the author of this book, is one of the hardest working people I know. She is also a hell of an author and dominates words the way that one would expect an author who has been writing for many, many years to do. I am nothing but impressed with her work. For as many 3, 4 and 5 star reviews as I post on this blog, there are so many others that do not make the cut and I choose not to post. I want you guys to read books that I enjoyed and feel good about recommending. This is definitely one of those books, as is her previously published book Live and Let Die
You can find her here: http://biancasloane.blogspot.com/
If I could recommend one new author to you this year and ask that you give them a chance to impress you, it would be Bianca Sloane. You won’t be sorry you checked out her books.
*On a personal note…Julian is a great character name, Bianca:)
Description from Goodreads:
What would you do if you found out your husband had been unfaithful?
Divorce him? Take him back?
Kill him?
Mark Monroe becomes the victim of option “C” after his wife, Kelly, discovers evidence of an illicit affair and stabs him to death. In a panic, she flees, deciding she will turn herself in the next day.
But before she can, Kelly learns devastating secrets about her husband, and starts a frantic mission to unravel the mystery of the man she married and murdered – all while trying to stay one step ahead of a
dogged police detective determined to bring her to justice.
After reading Bianca Sloane’s previous book,
Live and Let Die I was waiting for this one for what felt like forever. (It really wasn’t that long, I am just impatient.) Still, this book was more than worth the wait.
From the very beginning, this novel starts out with a bang. The main character is a likeable heroine that has been wronged and reacts to the situation she finds herself in just the same that any woman would.
One of the things that I truly love about this book is the fact that the main character was so easy for me to identify with. Her determination, wit and intelligence was felt rather than just read as one dimensional words on paper (or in this case screen.) I love it when you find a character that you could see yourself being, making the decisions you would make and really get a complete sense of who they are.
This book not only impressed me, but wowed me. That doesn’t happen very often. The suspense you feel while waiting to see what happens next will leave you waiting with bated breath, eager to turn the page. This was a book that kept me up most of one night and all of the next morning because the story was so fast paced and exciting that I couldn’t stand not having it before me.
The ending was entirely unexpected! I thought I saw where it was going, but once again, the author wrote above my expectations. Fantastic!
Bianca Sloane is a rare talent. This woman can write! If you have not checked out her books yet you are doing yourself a disservice. I am once again, waiting for the next book.

Hmm this looks interesting. So it’s not… a romance… right? More of a suspense… mystery type book? I’ll add it to my to read list. 🙂
