What the %&*@ WordPress?

So, I have been having nothing but issues with WP ever since they did the update of their system a while back. I am writing this just to ask if anyone else is having similar issues.

I can barely read a post, am having trouble with the comment boxes, can’t post a photo to save my life, links aren’t working, posts are randomly delete as I’m writing them and yet all other places on the internet seem to be working fine.

Anyone else having issues? I want to read your posts already!

  1. Are your squirrels being michievous? I only use the iPhone and iPad app. The app on the iPhone gets flaky occasionally. But my iPad app is fine. I almost ever use an actual computer for WordPress.

  2. I only use my computer but the biggest problem that I am having has to do with the notifications and comments. First, I come to my computer and had to use the ctrl + buttons to enlarge it big enough to see. That’s when I became that the WP update was screwy. Since then, I have had nothing but trouble with the notifications. When I reply to comments, it takes forever sometimes to accept my reply. It never took that long to load a reply before. Often it does not let me know I have notifications and then I’ll see I have ten. The notification box keeps changing size on me also. What’s up with that? One minute it’s normal, and the comments are printed large enough to see and off to the side, next minute it is minute and the reply box is directly under the comment. I thought it was just me not understanding again.

      • I have never had a lot of luck with the iPhone app for posting or viewing my site. I keep getting “401 forbidden” as a page whenever I try to view my own or someone elses’ site. I don’t even know what that means. My phone dings to let me know I have a notification and if I am away from home I will respond if I am able. My iPad does the same, but WILL let me view my site and is a little easier to post from. Mostly though, I am on my computer and I haven’t changed any settings anywhere when it just starts altering the way my comments and replies are viewed.

  3. All of my issues seem to involve my iPhone. When my son is around I use his iPad but sometimes it gets freaky. I prefer to use my desktop, but cannot always. My trouble with the app is the reader – most posts never show up or they do then disappear. My reader for just checking out fresh pressed and other categories has not updated in several months. ?????????? Go figure.

  4. So far I haven’t, but who knows…I’ve read some other posts over the weekend of people with similar issues. When I had trouble with similar things some time ago someone else having trouble posted about it on the wordpress forums and that brought out others with issues in droves so they fixed it…so that may help…fingers crossed it fixes for you soon!! πŸ™‚ πŸ™‚

  5. I had some issues with photos and WP straight up freezing last night. I actually thought it was my computer going on the fritz, but nope. Just WP.

  6. Yes! I’ve had trouble with the iPad app so maybe it’s the tablet update? I often comment and it won’t post, I don’t think I’m getting all of the post updates either. It’s frustrating!!

  7. i was having problems with WordPress acting up until I switched from IE to Chrome (at home) and Firefox (work) – I do everything on the laptop (my phone is almost too old to retain its ‘smart’ status, and it tires easily). I noticed that notifications are a little delayed still, but I thought it was my also-ancient computer!

  8. I haven’t had any of those issues. My issues, and others have had these issues as well, include not getting all of the posts in the reader from all of the blogs I follow; and checking in with a blog that I follow and seeing that WP no longer registers me as following the blog. Those are the two main problems I’ve had. But, I haven’t been as fond of WP since they changed the format all those months ago. I’m sticking with it, though, because it has become one of my homes. I just hope their next round “improvements” don’t go in the same direction as the last.

  9. I’m getting the forbidden thing on my phone and an occasional block from getting notifications. A month or two ago I had massive problems with things vanishing. It just fixed itself one day. Did you email WP?

  10. That’s weird. I can post and read okay most of the time, but I can’t view my stats on Google Chrome, and I can’t get to my dashboard via Safari, so I usually have to have WordPress open in two different ISPs. Which, admittedly, is kind of irritating.

  11. I haven’t had problems, but you’re not the first I’ve seen with these issues. I wondered if it had anything to do with the .com as opposed to the .wordpress.com. You’d think if you’re paying for your site there would be fewer issues, but it’s worth a survey I think.

  12. i had a lot of issues when using wp on my ipad, but now that i’m home and on my laptop, it seems okay. while on the ipad, many like buttons weren’t working, some comments took forever to post, it deleted my posts mid-process, and on and on.

  13. I only had one problem when it first updated and it has happened since. Thank goodness. I wrote and posted and it put the date as a few days earlier and before my last post. So it wasn’t my latest post then was it? I hope i didn’t just confuse you. Anyway i was really annoyed and had to delete the post as editing it didn’t work. However since then no problems.

  14. I haven’t had any trouble with WP. I use it a Windows 7 laptop in Chrome and on a Chromebook and it has been working just fine. The only thing I notice it that after I view a notification there are times that it will still show as unviewed. Other than that minor nuisance it has been working correctly. I don’t own an “i” anything so I can’t speak to that, but I don’t use WP on my phone, my fingers are just too big to use it effectively. Sorry you are having so many problems. πŸ™‚

  15. I have been having terrible troubles with WP too. Unable to open many blogs, unable to like, unable to comment, not sure about posting as I am following a very liberal, flexible schedule at the moment. It even appears that the country that you are in makes no difference either. I think WP just hates some people.
