“The real things haven’t changed. It is still best to be honest and truthful; to make the most of what we have; to be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong.”

  1. Well, last night I said my ‘goodbye’ to my college bound son. He leaves Thursday. Last night I took him to his father’s. It was hard, which I know sounds absolutely ridiculous considering what else is going on in the world (xx to u). He is my baby. I have two and a pooch. No other family. And I know they must fly but I do not want to lose them, though I know I am not losing them. Anyway, he just called. He is coming in the first weekend of October. His work at the the amusement park wants him to fun the big Fright Fest extravaganza. This makes me so happy because I do not know when i can see him – he will be 6 hrs away. With my work, $$,…. Oh hell, I am so sorry. I am rambling.

  2. I second Pamela’s comment: we need to laugh too … a lot. With or without pool boys. Because of you, I have laughed more in the last few months than probably in my whole life time. Ok, there was serious crying too but that fortunately was short-term 😉

  3. “To be happy with simple pleasures; and have courage when things go wrong”–a beautiful quote. And you’ve definitely shown courage. Thanks for this! Glad you have a pool boy or two on hand. I always keep a few spares handy.
