A new year, a new blog and you can all help

So, I was talking to Julian this afternoon and we have hatched an idear. (Brits. Everything ends in R.) We have devised a way to give people a simple way to contribute to something fun and get a little exposure for their blogs.

We have started a new blog, “Line by Line” which you can find here :

http://adashatatime.wordpress.com/

Here is the idea(r) :

We will be telling a story day-by-day, one sentence at a time. We ask that people contribute their ideas for the next sentence in the story in the comments on the Line By Line blog. We will choose the best sentence and add the contributor’s blog address after it for others to see and click on.

The story will only grow by one sentence each day, so we will pick our favourite.

The only rules are, you must limit it to ONE sentence and it must keep the story moving forward. We will post the story as it grows on an alternate page at the end of every week.

So, talented and creative friends and fellow bloggers of ours, let us get this started and see where it goes.

We look forward to your creativity!

Plus side: It will never take you long to read our posts. *bonus*

  2. This is a fantastic idea. It will be very interesting to see where the story goes and how it changes along the way 🙂 Here’s a possible additional idea…maybe you can make several pages in the blog and take several of the lines to developer 2-3 stories going 2-3 different directions at once. either way..sounds fun 🙂

  3. This is actually a very popular improv game, where you line your group up at the back wall and then have the first person give the first line of the story and the last person the concluding line. Then, without going in order, somebody else has to feed a line (e.g., the fourth person gives the fourth line). The fun comes as fewer people are left and they have to rationalize with their line those that came before and after.

  4. Great idea. I have done something similar in an English Comp class and found it very enjoyable. Everyone likes to play-along. Better than Solitaire on an iPad!
