About Me

My name is Ionia Froment. I am a serious book addict (really, it is an untreatable condition.) I’m also a writer, a mother, a student of Philosophy and Theology and a clay artist who likes to learn new things. Lots of things. I was once a popular blogger until I got rather lazy about it all, and now I’m trying to figure out again how I used to do this. A day at a time, a page at a time. Breathe. Right.

Thanks for visiting. I look forward to talking to you!

  1. In my very limiting blogging experience, I have already gained an enormous respect and admiration of you and your peers. I have some direct questions that I would like to ask you about my writing and publishing process. Could you share your email address with me?

  2. Oh Ionia! I have nominated you for the One Lovely Blog Award. Have a look at my latest post to see the details or if you prefer not to receive awards, that is absolutely fine 🙂

  3. Hi! Everyone misses you and hope you get better soon!
I’ve nominated you for a ‘Versatile Blogger Award’…because you’re awesome of course. If you’re not the awards type that’s cool but if you are go get it here http://wp.me/p3CH62-pt ! Yeah, there are rules but they’re pretty easy to follow. Thanks for reading my silliness!

  4. Welcome back my beloved Mentor Ionia. I missed you so much. You are so utterly awesome and the fact that you kicked cancer’s ass is NOT surprising to me at all because I knew it all along. If you’re up for it, please pick up the Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award that I’ve nominated you for. http://wp.me/p38Uaw-cS . I love you. Lily. 🙂

  5. I have nominated you for the Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award. I know another award is a pain, but I did promise the nominator that I would try and fulfill the requirements. You are under no such obligation. The good news is the nominations should be blogs that I enjoy reading and yours is certainly that. Go here to see the blog: http://wp.me/p2Qoij-Uc

  6. You (and your blog) came up in a discussion I was having with Rara about literary minded bloggers I should be following, reading, interacting with, etc…
I like what I’ve seen so far.

  7. I found your blog through the interview you just posted with Rose. I am always on the lookout for literary blogs. Mine is mostly literary. I just noticed, being a fairly new blogger, what’s with like half the comments here having to do with blogger awards? 🙂 I received one a few months back, a nomination, but don’t quite get it. It feels like a chain letter kind of thing to me, but I see that you simply accept each one as an honour. Hope to read more of your blog soon.

    1. Very nice to meet you. I agree about the chain letter type of feel. I appreciate them but stopped getting involved with them a long time ago. I look forward to checking out your blog!

  8. Ah! I just found your blog and it’s SO cool! I write a blog myself, it’s the fictional story of a mid-twenties girl who moved around her whole life and tries to find her bearings after college. If you go on it, don’t critique it yet would be scared of you reviewing it, but maybe in a few years and I’m a better writer! If you have time though, please check it out!

    Hi Ionia,
Not sure if you still receiving from this site, it looks like you have been gone from here for a while. I hope all is well in your life. Miss your blog. I just wanted you to know that I read your book, “Plundering The Romance Novel” and I’m still laughing. Since I continue to write romance, I found myself also painfully noticing some of the things I, myself, have done in writing. But I wanted to thank you also. By pointing out the absurd ways one can write romance, I will definitely be more aware in the future when I write. I love your sense of humor and you nailed many things that I even dislike about romance stories. Anyway, thank you for a lesson laced with laughter. I hope you have continued to be creative and share that with the world. I have thought of you often and wondered where you have gotten to.

    1. Just saw this…that’s whay I get for not updating my WordPress app. I’ve been doing well. Working on dual doctorates so I’ve been really busy. Plus…home schooled kids. I miss my family here on WordPress though, so I’m working on getting back into things. Thank you so much for the compliments. I do a lot of different things, but my focus has mostly switched to non fiction, although I still read fiction for enjoyment, not as much as I would like though. Missed you!
